Alan Short Center

Alan Short Center (ASC), located in Stockton, CA was the first program of its kind in the nation to utilize visual and performing arts as tools to help adults with developmental disabilities develop and maintain self-esteem, social interaction, language, personal independence, and other functional skills required for employment, community integration, and self-advocacy. ASC strives to provide opportunities for our clients to make their own decisions and gain a stronger voice in their communities through their creative talent and participation in society. ASC serves Sacramento and San Joaquin counties and accepts referrals from Valley Mountain Regional Center. The ASC Volunteer team has received multiple awards from City Council for their volunteer work in Adopt-a-Street and Adopt-a-Park.
