Longtime Client Learns to Speak Up for Herself and Express Her Opinions

Cheryl lives in a care home in Antelope. When she entered the Transitions for Tomorrow (T2) program almost twenty years ago, she was extremely shy and hesitant to interact with her peers or the T2 staff. She had difficulty with walking and speaking up for herself. Since being at T2, Cheryl has overcome these issues with staff’s encouragement and redirection. She engages in conversations with her peers, has become open to new challenges and ideas, and expresses her opinions. Cheryl has difficulty walking, but can with staff assistance and the use of a walker. After a walk she lets everyone know she has exercised! If Cheryl couldn’t receive T2 services, she would be confined to her care home or possibly be moved into a nursing home.

Cheryl says her proudest accomplishments are being a nice person, learning to write and making friends. Her positive attitude and great personality gives everyone around her a reason to smile.
