Client Makes His Mark In The Community

Brian, a client of the Community Integration Program, loves being out and about. Every day when Brian comes to program, he is always very eager to go out into the community. Brian does not get to go out at home on the weekends, so the Community Integration Program provides him with the vital opportunity to get out into the community on a daily basis. Every Monday through Thursday, Brian gets to participate in volunteer work at several churches and other organizations. Doing volunteer work is very important to Brian, because it makes him feel good about what he can do and feel that he has accomplished something and given back to the community. In addition to volunteering, Brian loves to go bowling and to be out in the community on any outings. He especially loves to be on the bus because he likes to listen to the radio and sing to everyone. The bus rides help Brian open up; he will talk a lot more to staff when he is having fun out in the community.

You can support this and other Community Integration Program activities by choosing DDSO for your Day of Giving contribution!
