Outstanding Role Model Excels in Leadership Positions

Kimi lives in an apartment near the Employment Plus (E+) office. She said she was “a lost puppy” before she came to the E+ program. She came to E+ with no confidence and a lack of interpersonal skills. Since that time, she says she has become more confident because the E+ staff appreciates her, gives her opportunities to thrive and provides a positive approach to life. Attending E+ has helped her to overcome her shyness and take on many leadership roles. She was the Script Supervisor for one of E+’s film productions, served on the Student Management Team for the Snack Shack managing the schedules and inventory, and has been an active leader and role model on the E+ Client Advisory Council. She also has a regular, part-time paid photography job serving as one crew member of a two-camera shoot producing the many videos for the Sutter Street Theatre in Folsom. Kimi now dreams of starting her own business one day. Without E+, Kimi would lose the leadership positions that provide her with the confidence to be involved with others.
